#StyleDiaries: Day one: Neha Dhupia for Kingfisher Supermodel Hunt

After all the preparations, fittings, breakdowns and dress-up playing:

we are finally ready to start shooting Kingfisher Supermodels, the third edition. Once again, Neha is hosting the hunt, so her style is at the centre of attention.

Day one:

Hello, Delhi!

Neha’s airport look is simple and comfortable. She’s wearing a long cotton shirt from my first collection (about to debut here on Pyjama People soon.) The top can also be worn over a tee-shirt like a light trench vest as well.

The light material doesn’t wrinkle easily, making Neha look like she’s just walked out of a long spa day, not landed into Delhi heat.

Her light-washed boyfriend jeans keep it casual like a Sunday morning, but the black booties chic it up.

Proving that a little goes a long way, a tote and some tortoise shell sunnies are totes all you need.

Simple maths: Girls + five star resorts + clothes +shoes + makeup =

Time to work it, girls!

And it begins!

Neha is an energetic person and likes clothes that go with her flow. This navy shift dress moves with the wearer and is a delight to run around in. Her laced-black booties have comfortable block heels because there’s a lot to be done in just a few hours, and she’s constantly on her feet.

And her man bun? It’s not a man bun, it’s a bun that women have been using since time immemorial to keep our hair out of our faces, and which men have only now caught on to just now. Props to her for #reclaimingthebun.

Stylist’s tip: The clean outfit leaves room to showcase her statement necklace, which makes the outfit pop!

The dress is from Turquoise and Gold, and accessories from Loupe. Her booties are by Rajesh Pratap Singh and the sunglasses are from Zara. Nars makeup products were used during the shoot.

Make up tips: Afternoon shoots are fun, but require long-lasting (stubborn, if you will) makeup. A good base, a light primer, is important. And nude lips along with freshy rosy cheeks go a long way.

White nights

Nothing says chic like monochrome. A structured blazer and delicately detailed accessories borrows from the old Hollywood glam from where this trend originated. Add coral lips and winged tip eyeliner, Voila! Brown Veronica Lake it is.

The clothes are by Rohit+Rahul.  The necklace is by Mrinalini Chandra, and the ring is a Curio Cottage find.

All looks are styled by Chief pyjama aka Sohaya Misra aka Chola the Bhola. Make up is done by Angeline Joseph.
