Pyjama People x Zara: Ameya Nagarajan

ameya feature image

Having grown sick of everyone – from fashion magazines to random uncles on the streets – telling women what to wear and what not to wear, the Pyjamas asked our readers to join us in giving all the would-be “stylists of the nation” a sartorial finger.

The Challenge?

To leave behind all the unsolicited advice, fashion or otherwise, that are piled on to women.

The Participant?

Ameya transformation before

Ameya Nagarajan is a 33-year-old editor, writer and kicker of all silly-boy asses. Though she’s a total badass, even Ameya’s not immune to the constant stream of negativity that surrounds plus-sized women.

In this video, she tells us the parts of her body that she’s conditioned to dislike, some of her experiences, and how that has affected the way she dresses.

With that information, we asked her to take a leap of faith with us. We dressed her in a tight dress, a style that she had always thought (because she had always been told) she could not pull off. She was pretty happy, which is really all that matters, isn’t it?

The Result?

Behold, GLAMEYA!
