The future of shopping: Apps and Instagram!

Social media used to be about being… social. Used to be. Today, more Indian entrepreneurs are using the Instagram and creating their own shopping sites. The result? Spending money on the Internet has never been so easy. I ventured into this, the ultimate Instahole — filled with zany clothes, accessories and make up — to bring you this list of Indian and India-shipment-friendly Instashops.

Why have a physical store when everyone is buying virtually anyway? That’s The Hype Shop’s motto, and it seems to be working well for them. My friends rated this shop as among their favourites. Offering everything from clothes by indie labels to cosmetics, this is a great resource for back-to-college shopping.

This bag is just boho-beautiful, don’t you think?

This Instagram account and linked app aggregates blogger closets for you to shop. To be honest, it’s a bit of a hit-n-miss. The bright side is that there’s something for every one. The con is that there seems to be very little curation involved. Still, these two finds on their Insta-account caught my eye.

Blue and White Pinstriped Top

This black and white top is also nice, and only Rs 300!

This Insta account is private, so you have to send a friend request in order to place your orders. But, if you can’t wait that long, you can see their merchandise on their site, which boasts the tag line: India’s largest Insta shop. And, it may well be.

These piggy-parcels are definitely pyjama picks:

And who doesn’t need a pair of retro round shades?

Pyjama Peeps! Piggy Parcel has been generous enough to give all of you a flat 10% on anything you buy from them. Use the code PiggyPyjamas on their Instagram or website!
