As Netflix announced Army of the Dead is well on the way to being included in the top 10 most watched films of all time (at least according to the stats announced), we thought we would, with the help of ours, see how well the film is on the various top 10 Netflix lists cut friends on FlixPatrol.
OK, quick recap before we dive into the top 10 data. Zack Snyders Army of the Dead debuted on Netflix on May 21, 2021. It kicks off Netflix’s big theatrical schedule for the summer of 2021. It’s a spiritual sequel to 2004’s Dawn of the Dead that Snyder created, though it’s vastly different in scope and tone .
It was far from a perfect film, we published our review of the film and the ratings also reflect the split in opinion.
The film also comes out the same year that HBO Max debuted Zack Snyder’s Justice League This is a remake of the 2017 film that disappointed audiences and critics after Snyder was forced to leave the project due to external circumstances. Warner Brothers doesn’t have any statistics for. released Justice League except for vague statements that things are going well.
Now, before we get to the top 10 dates, we just need to point out that the top 10 dates are only part of the puzzle when it comes to figuring out what’s trending on Netflix. It doesn’t provide numbers of how many people are watching the video, but rather arranges it in order of what people see. There are inherent flaws with this, but it’s still fun to dig into.
As previously mentioned, Netflix’s 2-minute stats announced on May 28th that the film is on its way to hitting 72 million hits, which would place it at number 9 on the top 10 film list. This can still be adjusted upwards or downwards after the first 28 days have expired.
72 million households bet on dead.
