Barack and Michelle Obama join many artists to create an animated musical series designed to teach kids their rights and more – Trailer!

Former POTUS and FLOTUS are teaming up to educate American youth about politics with a brand new animated musical! The series is called We the People and is produced by Netflix!

According to the show’s slogan, it will “combine music and animation to educate a new generation of Americans about popular power”.

The trailer has also been released and features a number of songs by well-known names in the music industry.

Barack and Michelle Obama ‘s political series is expected to have 10 episodes, each of which is actually a three-minute animated music video designed to educate children and teenagers about government and other social and political issues.

The artists who joined the project and loaned their voices for the songs are HER, Brandi Carlile, Janelle MonĂ¡e, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Cordae, Adam Lambert, Bebe Rexha, Andra Day, KYLE and the poet Amanda Gorman!

Each episode will also feature a mix of different animation styles.

In the press, Netflix continues to describe the series as: “an exuberant call to action for everyone to rethink citizenship as a living and breathing thing and to reshape their own understanding of what government and citizenship mean in the modern world.”

We the People is created by Chris Nee who co-stars with Michelle and. is also Executive Producer for the ambitious project Barack Obama and her company, Higher Ground Productions.

There is of course a much larger team behind the series with a number of other producers and directors.

In addition, the world premiere of AFI DOCS will be moderated via a free screening event in the DOCS Talks section of the festival.

This takes place on June 24th at 8 p.m. ET. The series can also be seen on Netflix from July 4th.
