Now people all over the country can watch shows and movies made in Marathi, Gujarati, Malayalam, Assamese, Odia, Telugu and several other regional film industries.

The streaming platform caters to the fans of Bengali content. It offers a plethora of Bengali movies and web shows in many genres with English subtitles. From the new releases, a few underrated movies, the classics starring Suchitra Sen and Soumitra Chatterjee, to movies directed by Satyajit Ray, the platform has a lot in its library. Apart from this, Hoichoi contains more than 1000 Bengali songs for audio streaming worldwide.

The OTT platform presents premium Telugu content in various genres. The streaming services were launched by Allu Aravind’s Geeta Arts on the Telugu New Year in March 2020. Allu Arjun supported his father’s initiative to provide quality content to the Telugu speaking audience. Apart from Telugu movies, about 20 web series have been produced especially for the platform.
Sun NXT (Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Bengali)
Launched in 2017, the on-demand service is owned by the Sun TV Network. It allows its subscribers to view content in four South Indian languages: Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and in Bengali. The streaming platform’s content library is packed with movies, TV shows, music videos, and comedy videos. The subscribers can also watch live TV on the service.
Koode meaning ‘With you’ is the first independent OTT platform to deliver Malayalam content. It was launched in December 2020 by Studio Mojo and has both original web series and content curated from YouTube in its library. The platform plans to introduce a pay-per-video model for movies and premium content soon.
The streaming platform offers original web shows, short films, live sports and movies for the Bengali audience. Launched in 2016, it is one of the fastest growing Bangladeshi digital platforms in the country.
Regal Talkies (Tamil)
Launched by Tamil film producer CV Kumar, Regal Talkies is a pay-per-view platform. It also provides a platform for budding filmmakers to present their content to the public.

Marathi film production house Planet Marathi came up with a streaming platform in 2020 to make Marathi-language content accessible to cinephiles around the world. It also offers web series, movies, food shows, and educational programs. The creators are also working on a “first day-first show” feature, where viewers can pay the one-time fees for watching their favorite movie.
Olly Plus (Odia)
If you want to enjoy movies, songs, comic videos, audio movies and short films in Odia, Olly Plus is for you. The streaming service was launched in 2020 by Sk Line Production.
The Gujarati content streaming platform OHO Gujarati, which was launched in May, has received huge support so far with over 1.5 lakh downloads. The OTT platform can be downloaded from Google Play & Apple Store. According to the platform’s motto, it’s ‘by the Gujaratis, for the Gujaratis’. It promises to provide exclusive, premium and high-quality entertainment.
The streaming services are owned by Ahmedabad-based lifestyle media company CityShor.com and were launched in October 2020. It has both original and curated Gujarati web series, films and short films in its library.
Talkies (Tulu, Konkani, Kannada)
The streaming service has movies, web series and TV shows in Tulu, Konkani, Kannada and Beary languages. For those who are fans of theatrical performances, the platform also hosts Yakshagana, a traditional form of theater developed in Kannada.
The streaming platform Malayalam, owned by US-based JKH Holdings, was launched in November last year. The first movie to be released on the platform was Isakkinte Ithihasam. In addition to offering Malayalam movies, it also offers content from various television channels.
Reel Drama (Assamese)
Hyderabad-based Reeldrama Production rolled out a new OTT platform for Assamese movies, web series and other shows in January this year. Reeldrama’s content mix includes contemporary and old movies, short films, web series in various genres, theater, a wide variety of shows of music, comedy, poetry, cooking and devotion. It also offers a special children’s zone with animated moral stories and granny stories, in addition to master classes.
