Vocalist Chinmayi Sripada took to Instagram to appreciate Samantha Akkineni for graciously facing the hate after the release of Amazon Prime Video’s The Family Man 2. Her comment came after the critically acclaimed series got a push from certain segments of the audience. Samantha plays a rebellious soldier in the show and is praised for her performance.
Chinmayi’s caption read: “One rating post that’s random. And so. A lot. anger. That I need to clarify why I appreciate someone I’ve rated multiple times on my feed. I’m exhausted with the hate. Please leave me alone. There is a limit to what I can handle.”
A few hours later, she also uploaded a post to her Instagram story raising the hatred she got for praising Samantha.

Earlier this week, filmmaker Bharathiraja released a statement demanding a ban on The Family Man Season 2. The statement read: “We are angry with the Indian government for not giving an order to stop streaming The Family Man Season 2 despite our request. The scenes in the show show that this series was created by people who history of Tamil Eelam fighters. I condemn the show that insults the uprising which was filled with good intentions, courage and great sacrifice. I request Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar to stop streaming the show immediately.”
The leader of Naam Tamilar Katchi also called for a ban on the series. He wrote on social media: “Stop streaming #TheFamilyMan2 webseries or we Thamizhs around the world may have to run a massive campaign to boycott all @amazon services, including Prime Video.”
In Family Man 2, Samantha Akkineni plays the role of a rebel fighter named Raji. She has received much critical acclaim for her performance in the series from critics and fans alike. “The new season also gives us the real hero of the show. Samantha Akkineni, who plays a highly skilled, highly skilled terrorist operative, is absolutely amazing,” wrote Shubhra Gupta in her review of the series.
