Kajol mourns friend, producer Ryan Stephen’s death, asks ‘where all these people are going?’

Film producer Ryan Stephen passed away on Saturday due to Covid-19 related complications in Goa. While many from the film industry have already taken to social media to mourn Ryan’s death, Kajol shared a heartbreaking poem.

On Sunday, she took to her social media to share a poem and photo collage with the late producer and her close friend. Kajol’s message read:

“Tell me there’s a heaven,
tell me it’s true
Tell me there’s a reason
Why I see what I do
Tell me there is a heaven hemel
Where are all those people going
Tell me they’re all happy now
Please tell me it is…’
. I love you forever and ever @ryanivanstephen. Friends for life and beyond, remember?”

Kajol’s sister Tanishaa Mukerji also shared an old photo on her Instagram story, writing, “We love you Ryan! To all the love and smiles we shared!” Manish Malhotra shared heart emojis on Kajol’s post while Dia Mirza wrote, “Sending you love ❤️,” to Kajol.

Ryan and Kajol were close.

Kajol’s short film Devi and Kiara Advani’s Indoo Ki Jawani was produced by Ryan.

Previously, Kiara Advani had taken to her Instagram to share her grief. She shared Ryan’s photo, writing, “Gone too soon”. Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt also paid tribute on Instagram.

After contracting the virus, Ryan was admitted to a hospital in Goa where he was treated for over two weeks.

Indoo Ki Jawani director Abir Sengupta confirmed the news of Ryan’s death to indianexpress.com. Calling his death “heartbreaking”, he said, “Ryan passed away this morning. He was fighting Covid-19. He was in Goa, his friends and family are arranging his funeral.”

Pooja Bhatt, Manoj Bajpayee, Dia Mirza and Farhan Akhtar also tweeted to remember the late producer, filmmaker.
