Loki’s new video confirms that Tom Hiddleston’s supervillain is gender-fluid, fans are ecstatic. Watch

Everyone’s favorite MCU supervillain Loki has now apparently, canonically, been confirmed as gender fluid. A new promo clip from the Disney+ series shows a document. Under the heading “sex” is the word liquid.

This wouldn’t be news to anyone, even with the vaguest idea about Norse mythology, as Loki was man, woman, both, neither, animal, bird and everything else you could think of.

While this document may be a nod to the famous shape-shifting abilities of the God of Mischief, as it says sex and not gender, fans have taken this as a sign that the character is indeed gender fluid, meaning his gender identity doesn’t strictly match either male or female.

Many others think this may be an indication of Lady Loki who is just a female version of Loki. She was created when he possessed the body intended to inhabit the spirit of Lady Sif, a character in Thor movies played by Jaimie Alexander.

Many fans are happy to see one of MCU’s favorite characters portrayed in such a way. One expressed his happiness by tweeting “Loki laufeyson,,, god of mischief,, and canon gender fluid yup yup”.

Another tweeted: “The fact that Loki is gender fluid makes me so happy, I mean we knew, but thanks.”

Another fell on those who complain about the development. Their tweet read: “Anyone whining about this has no idea about Norse mythology.. being gender fluid is one of the tamer things Loki would be known for..”

Although Loki is dead after being choked by Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War, this series, created by Michael Waldron, will follow the adventures of an alternate version of Loki who escaped with the Space Stone in Avengers: Endgame when the Avengers went to pick him up. in the immediate aftermath of the Battle of New York.

Loki will premiere on Disney+ Hotstar Premium in India on June 9.
