Even if today was just the first day of the event, we would say that Netflix’s geeked event has already paid off. From renewal announcements to release dates, day one didn’t disappoint. From the upcoming Army of the Dead prequel to Shadow & Bone news to a teaser for the upcoming second part of Lupine, Geeked has been full of interesting news so far.

Army of the Dead: Army of Thieves release window announced

Army of Thieves: Matthias Schweighöfer on the upcoming prequel

Army of Thieves is an upcoming romantic comedy heist film directed by Matthias Schweighöfer and screenplayed by Shay Hatten, based on an original story co-written by Zack Snyder and Hatten. The prequel to Army of the Dead is the film Schweighöfer, who repeats his role as Ludwig Dieter, along with a supporting cast that includes Nathalie Emmanuel, Guz Khan, Ruby O. Fee, Stuart Martin, Jonathan Cohen, Noemie Nakai and Peter Simonischek .

Producer Deborah Snyder announced during the Geeked event that the prequel movie is slated to premiere on Netflix this fall.

Shadow & Bone renewed for season 2

Shadows and bones is a fantasy streaming TV series developed by Eric Heisserer for Netflix and premiered on April 23, 2021. It is based on two series of books in the Grishaverse by American author Leigh Bardugo: her trilogy, of which the first is Shadows and bones (2012); and the duology that begins with Six crows (2015). All eight episodes of the first season premiered on April 21, 2021 Shadows and bones and an original storyline with the crows. In June 2021, the series was extended by a second season, also with eight episodes.

It was officially announced that the series had been extended for a second season. The frequent visitors to Pyjama People already knew that, of course, as we revealed in March, even before the series even premiered. You can see the announcement tweet below:

Jean-Claude Van Damme’s The Last Mercenary First Look

The last mercenary is an upcoming action comedy film directed by David Charhon and written by Charhon and Ismael Sy Savane. The film stars Jean-Claude Van Damme, along with a supporting cast that includes Alban Ivanov, Assa Sylla and Samir Decazza. It will be released on Netflix on July 30, 2021.

Liam Neeson’s expanded preview of The Ice Road

After a remote Canadian diamond mine collapses, an ice skater undertakes an impossible rescue mission to save the lives of trapped miners despite the condensation. The ice road is an upcoming disaster action thriller directed by Jonathan Hensleigh and starring Liam Neeson and Laurence Fishburne and starring Benjamin Walker, Amber Midthunder, Marcus Thomas, Holt McCallany, Martin Sensmeier, Matt McCoy and Matt Salinger. The film will be released on June 25, 2021 on Netflix.

Lupine is a French mystery thriller streaming television series directed by George Kay and François Uzan that premiered on Netflix on January 8, 2021. The series consists of ten episodes, with the first five episodes released in January 2021 and the rest on June 11, 2021. Before the second season was released, Lupine was officially renewed for a third by Netflix.
