Netflix is preparing the release of a new German / English action horror film Blood red skyfollowing a mother with a dark secret who has to protect her son on the plane. The film was formerly known as Transatlantic 473but was later renamed. Here’s what we know so far.
Netflix Blood red sky was written and directed by the German director Peter Thorwarth. Thorwarth worked on such projects as The wave, Not my day and more. Next to Thorwarth in the writing room was Stefan Holtz, who worked with him on several previous projects.
The film is slated to appear worldwide on Netflix on July 23, 2021.
Rat Pack Filmproduktion, which is a subsidiary of Constantin Film, is behind the film.

A woman with a mysterious illness is forced to act when a group of terrorists attempt to hijack a transatlantic night flight. To protect her son, she has to solve a dark secret and unleash the vampire she fought to hide for.

Filming for Blood red sky encountered difficulties in the Czech Republic in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but eventually everything worked out and filming resumed later this year. The film is currently in post-production and will be ready for release on Netflix in July.
The production is said to have cost around 15 million euros.
