No official audience figures have been released for the series, but we can keep track of how well the series performed thanks to Netflix Top 10 features.
According to FlixPatrol, the series garnered 5321 points on its scale and is the 19th most popular title in 2020.
Outer banks It did well in the United States, where it was in the top 10 for a total of 50 days. It held first place between April 24th and April 28th I’ve never wiped before the top spot (recently renewed for season 2).

What can you expect in season 2 of Outer banks
Before we get into what to expect from Season 2, let’s briefly recap the events of Season 1.
Throughout the series, we follow a group of teenagers who use a treasure map that appears to reveal where $ 400 million of gold is hidden that was sunk by a merchant ship. Jump forward, relationships are all strained, and eventually Ward steals the treasure.
At the end of the first season, John B is charged with the murder of Ward’s father.
Josh Pates teased that we’re going to the Bahamas for the first episodes of season two (as the ending suggested), saying:
“There would be a couple of episodes that are at least partially in the Bahamas, it unfolds into a bigger mystery. We keep our old villains and add new ones. But it always comes back to that Outer banks. “
In addition, Josh has teased a new villain for season 2, whom Ward does not necessarily live up to early in season 2 and, above all, new secrets are waiting.
Speaking to Netflix Life, Chase Stokes teased the following for Season 2:
“What I can say is that everyone has worked so incredibly hard this season. The performances are so much more nuanced, the story is heightened. I think it’s a story that people will really resonate with. I’m just so proud of the cast and crew this season. To be our best and to give our best in the environment we are in.
I can say it will be another wild ride. You know Outer Banks doesn’t disappoint in this area. I think people are going to be really excited to see season two. “
Some of the best theories we’ve seen on this subreddit include that Sarah will contact Wheezie and stay in the Bahamas for a while (first half of the season). Some have even suggested the plane won’t even make it to the Bahamas.
Other great predictions are:
- John B finds his mother
- You finally find out where the gold is
- JJ will end up living with Kiera
Perhaps one of the most interesting theories is that the narrator will change in Season 2.
One of the biggest concerns of the fans is that the series will maintain its excellent writing and get a lot of mentions Riverdale as a show so as not to follow in the same footsteps.
As for the new actors, only a few have been listed on IMDb so far.
Elizabeth Mitchell is currently listed as a role she is best known for in Season 2 Santa Claus 2, Lost and frequency.
While we are all waiting for the next season, Netflix has uploaded a number of bugs that are worth watching.
To wrap up, we just wanted to address the news that a North Carolina teacher and writer filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against Netflix in late December 2020. No updates have been released since then.
And finally, Outer Banks won Best Popcorn Kiss at the MTV Awards.
