Ryan Reynolds wants to “de-stigmatize” the mental health of his and Blake Lively’s daughters!

While Ryan Reynolds talked about his struggles with loneliness and felt really down at times, he emphasized that talking about mental health is really important. The actor mentioned that he really wants to de-stigmatize this topic for his offspring.

That’s true! In a new interview, Reynolds announced that he would like to be a “model” for his daughters and that there is an opportunity to speak as openly as possible about his own struggles.

At the end of the day, however, he wants everyone to be just as open to a better world.

While chatting with ET he said, “Part of it is that I have 3 daughters at home and part of my whole job as a parent is modeling their behavior and what it’s like to be sad and to be model what it is like to be “afraid or angry.” That there is room for all of these things. The home I grew up in wasn’t really modeled for me. And that’s not to say that my parents were negligent, but they come from a completely different generation. “

He continued, “Part of it is destigmatizing things and having a conversation about them [mental health]. I know when I felt at rock bottom it was usually because I felt like I was alone in something I was feeling. I think when people talk about it, I don’t necessarily have to go into it, but I think it’s important to talk about. When you talk about it, it makes other people free. ‘Oh, he feels that and so do I.’ And even if we live in 2 different areas or have 2 completely different lives, that somehow connects us. “
