Actor Samantha Akkineni considers drawing The Family Man season 2 an achievement for her. The South Indian star will make her digital debut with the Raj and DK directed spy drama starring Manoj Bajpayee.
Speaking about watching The Family Man Season One as an audience and being happy with the decision to join the cast in the second season, Samantha told indianexpress.com, “I couldn’t finish the first season of The Family Man on the first. day, and reviews poured in. It made me very curious. Chay (Naga Chaitanya) and I sat down the next day. We thought we would watch one episode and keep it for a week. But that didn’t happen.”
She added: “I saw the reviews on the first day and I had high expectations. I think the doubts were dispelled moments after the release. Everyone was hooked. I felt very proud. It was my biggest achievement.”
Samantha Akkineni, who plays the main antagonist Raji in Season 2 of The Family Man, has already turned heads with her scenes in the web show’s trailer.
Explaining that watching the show’s first season was no less than a “theatre-like experience,” she said, “It was like watching a blockbuster movie with comedy, action. It was a complete package. I didn’t expect to see what I saw. I patted myself for making such a great decision.’”
In The Family Man 2, actors Sharib Hashmi and Priyamani will also reprise their roles of JK Talpade and Suchitra Tiwari. After a cliffhanger from the first season, this time around, the stakes are high as Srikant Tiwari (Manoj Bajpayee) travels to Chennai to solve a bigger and more dangerous case.
The Family Man 2 will be released on Amazon Prime Video on June 4.
