Sweet Tooth Season 1 is now available to stream on Netflix UK

With the arrival in June there is a flurry of new additions to the UK library. There are a total of 71 new films and TV shows available for UK subscribers to enjoy. Here’s the news on Netflix UK and the top 10 for June 4th, 2021.

Here are the top highlights of the past week:

Sweet tooth (season 1) No

Genre: Action, Adventure, Drama | Running time: 37-53 minutes

Although the Sweeth Tooth comic was published by DC Comics, the TV adaptation somehow avoided being owned by HBO Max and is instead a global original.

A devastating virus known as “The Great Crumble” has ravaged the world and in its wake led to the rise of hybrid humans, babies born partly animal and partly human. Not knowing whether the hybrids were caused by or the result of the virus, many of the remaining humans choose to hunt the hybrids. A young hybrid named Gus ventures out of his forest sanctuary with the lonely hiker Jepperd and together they travel through the remnants of America in search of answers.

The Blair Witch Project (1999)

While The Blair Witch Project did not originate found footage horror, it can be credited with the dramatic popularity of the horror subgenre. The film took the world by storm, and while Blair Witch may seem tame by today’s standards, it was one of the most terrifying films to be released at the time.

In search of the local legend of the Blair Witch, three film students travel to the heart of the Maryland Forest to document evidence of the legend’s existence.

Untouchables (1987)

Director: Brian De Palma
Genre: Crime, drama, thriller | Running time: 119 minutes
Occupation: Kevin Costner, Sean Connery, Robert De Niro, Andy Garcia, Charles Martin Smith

Of the four nominations, it was Sean Connery who took home the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor.

Mob boss Al Capone was at the height of his power during the prohibition era and had almost every government and local official under his belt. The US government hires federal agent Eliot Ness and his handpicked team to defeat the Chicago gangster.

Army of the Dead again missed the UK top spot as Spider-Man: Far from home skips the original. Meanwhile, fans have re-watched the popular American sitcom in droves thanks to the release of the Friends reunion episode, but it hasn’t been enough to oust SWAT from the top of TV.
